I pursued engineering in electronics and telecommunication in the year 2012. Last week, I remembered
the basic model of communication. It comprises sender-medium-receiver. All three elements play an
equally important role in the process.
But, does it apply to real lives? I noticed, that these days everyone wants to be important. The
prestigious feeling of being the primary source of information, to educate someone about something
they do not know is so hyped. There is so much information available, it is out of human capacity to
know EVERYTHING. The urge to feel important by being the pioneer of information providers is hyped.
"It is good to be important. But it is more important to be good", a dialogue from Chennai Express
that holds value too. Pretty much self-explanatory, right? Analyse what you wish to be in the long
run and then decide to be good or important. Because "Most of the trouble in the world is caused by
people wanting to be important" - T S Eliot. Being important all the time makes you self-centered
and puts you in a position where you always keep seeking validation from others. Honestly, no one
can keep making you feel important 24*7*365. In the end, it is all about time. Some days belong to
you, the rest don't. And all you have to do is be okay with both.
