26th December 2021
2021 is about to end! How many goals that you set for it to be reached?
How many resolutions were fulfilled? Did you keep track? Or left it by January itself?
Yes, I won't
shy away from saying that I did! And shamelessly so, I did it in 2017, 18, 19 as well!
Consistency
is this generation's (including me!) main problem! We do know what we want to do,
how we have to do
but there are so many distractions that we fall prey to them and the focus gets blurred or
side-tracked!
I am no PRO, but here is a little trick that I tried to implement and it worked for me!
Time
management is honestly not my thing, I am all over the place every single time!
But one day, while
casually scrolling through social media, I came across the Rose, Bud, and Thorn Check-in concept.
Trust me, it worked wonders for me!
I used the same concept, the only thing I did is, instead of doing this check-in once a year, like
new year's resolution,
I do it more frequently! Weekly, fortnightly or monthly, working with shorter
spans gets better out of me! Now talking about it in detail;
ROSE:
This bit lets you keep a check-in of what you have in life that you are grateful for! In a quest to
soar higher, achieve more,
we skip registering what we already have, something that we once dreamt
of! From time to time,
make a list of achievements earned, goals reached. An excellent way to pause
and be aware as well as conscious of our own abilities, capabilities, strengths, and qualities!
BUD:
Everyone, sheepishly confesses they wished to or dreamt of something but did not find enough time to
do, or some other reason.
However, in this bit, all you need to do is, make a list of things you
aspire to do, that motivates you,
you look forward to it, and then gradually work towards doing more
of it!
This may even include learning a new skill or re-learning / practicing a long-lost skill!
THORN:
Thorn is something that pricks and pains!
Yess... It's about the things that we feel are the
obstacles, the hurdles, and challenges on our way to either our bud or rose stage!
They can be
overcome only if they are worked upon, there is no escape!
I do this check-in every fortnight, doing for the last 5 months,
and have noticed a lot of change in
the way I utilize my time and skills! The best part about this is,
every time you run this check-in,
it's a new rose, bud, and thorn that you analyze for yourself,
and eventually, you keep growing as
the plant does!
