Book Review - Embraces In Ink

14th Dec 2024

Do you ever sit idle and ponder upon things or people that you have or don't have (for good!) in your life? Honestly, I never did it before. However, it's the last month of the year, and reading "Embraces in Ink" by Manali made me feel like this has to become a yearly ritual now.

There are many ads about courses that teach you to practice Gratitude, the act of being grateful, handling your emotions, managing your feelings, letting go, etc. This book is an All In One package for that. Every poem you read will remind you of similar incidents that may have happened to you or similar people you may have met. Every section, before it starts, gives you a glimpse of what you will find ahead in the form of a quote, a brilliant way to do it. Also, the clever play of words is notable, the words which she writes in brackets.

Manali's writing style is not new to me, it's easy and breezy, that's me after reading her third book. What I have discovered in this one is how beautifully she brings her analogies and similes, this requires keen observation. And Manali has clearly mastered that art. The concept of the book is unique, but what stood out for me is "When Socials Become Anti-Social" It is the most relatable piece and everyone who uses social media day in and out (Duh! Who doesn't? 😋) will understand why I am saying this.

It is the last month of the year, so I would say, make the most of it by reading this book.
