As the title indicates, it talks about the death and loss of a family member. Author Sneha Sharma
has chosen a subtle way of expressing and talking about a sensitive issue, especially with kids. The
story is simple, lucid, and involves you easily. As characters are introduced one by one, the
excitement is only added to the journey ahead. The mention of Ruskin Bond and Enid Blyton was known,
but I had to answer who Vikram Betaal and Detective Karamchand are, such a nice way to introduce
these legendary characters to the kids. I slept on the terrace in my childhood, but for him it was
new, and now that he knows about it through this book, I will have to plan it soon for him. Aam Ras
was not new to him, but Batasha and Jugnoo were introduced after he read this book. Stories like
these bring the amalgamation of fun rituals that were done in the past and are missing now so
beautifully!
It's a small book, and can be read in an hour, 40 pages only; but the lesson it imparts is so so
worthy and crucial. The language is simple and easy for kids to understand; however, there is an
opportunity to learn new words as well. The little, cute illustrations are just the perfect visual
representation of the story.
Does Ayesha meet her grandma? How does she get there? Does she bring her back? To find answers to
these questions, you will have to read the book!
