Book Reveiw - Night At The Medical Campus

7th Nov 2024

Disclaimer: Keep in mind, this is the review of a horror book by a weak hearted person, the bravehearts may find it over the board. But it is an honest review.

The story starts with a casual incident and then keeps on taking unexpected turns with every page. Author Siddharth has done a brilliant job in building the fear in pieces instead of giving it all at once or making it predictable. 10/10 there. The characters are rightly placed and paced for a reader's understanding. The story keeps you hooked throughout. Just when you think you are courageous and now eligible to read more horrors, are able to predict what happens next, is the time the author cleverly makes you realise - NO, you are wrong.

I enjoyed reading it thoroughly. The plot is thoughtfully woven and the sequence of actions does not have loose ends. Since it is a serial murder mystery, the death of certain characters does come as a shock. But it all makes sense in the end.

I would recommend you read this book in one go, because I started reading it and halfway had to leave it. I could not touch it for the next two days. All the horror that had built up evaporated. Then I started it all over again and finished in 4.5 hours, it is a quick read.

Another suggestion is, if you are weak hearted (like me!), avoid reading it before bedtime. Four of us read this book and we noticed, even though it feels like you are reading just another horror book, the after effects have been there, evidently experienced by 3 of us. This is a story plotted at a medical college, and the characters are college students, professors, and canteen waiters. Enough, I won't give any more spoilers. You should read this book.

I want to thank the three from team Fantastic Four for choosing this book, I wouldn't have read it otherwise. Thank you Siddhant, Manali and Tanvi.
