Raising strong kids: How right nutrition supports every Complan boy

These days, it has become a ritual with us to meet once a month where kids get to socialize and interact with their friends and we moms get some time to chit-chat and have fun! Once we meet, the kids are on their own. A few months back, we all were worried as kids were frequently falling sick and missed some crucial topics in academics. Although our kids are the same age and grade, in different sections though, we manage to cover up the academic loss. But kids at this age being prone to illness rather than making the most of their childhood is alarming, right?

After a good 8 rounds of dumb charades, we mums needed munchies. Deepti walked into the kitchen to get those while I thought of checking up on the kids once as the room buzzing with noise had become a place with pin-drop silence!

When I reached the door, I could see Aditya narrating a story.

"Every normal person can be a superhero if they choose good habits and follow them consistently" was the statement Aditya uttered.

I stayed calm to see what communication would happen next. "You are such a bluffmaster Aditya! Not everyone can be a superhero" said Kiara and Aditya had an apt explanation for her.

"Last week only I saw Avengers for the first time and my daddy explained this to me. If not all, but most of us can be superheroes. You know, Dr. Banner who is a nuclear scientist, who works on Gamma Rays, transforms into Hulk when he is angry. Mr. Tony Stark who is the CEO of Stark Industry, just like any man could have been, becomes Ironman once he wears his suit. I can go on and on to prove this in the case of every Avenger character.

I was surprised to hear this. My son saw me so he came up to me and said, "Mumma, we all were tired of playing so Aditya started telling a story to all of us, come, join us?" I quickly said, "No beta. I will go and talk to Deepti Aunty, you go and listen to the story."

I was walking towards the living room of her house with a thought of asking her, "Aditya has been regular at school, doing well at sports activities and so pertinent with kids as well; What's the secret?"

I entered her kitchen to help her and caught a chance to ask her what was on my mind. She very calmly heard me out and said,

"I am only doing what my mom did. We try to feed healthy food to our children. I take care that his meals are balanced and that he is getting all macro and micronutrients. Milk too is very important for him, at this age. That's why I decided to raise him as a Complan boy. With 34 vital nutrients, which include 100% milk proteins, support memory and concentration and support 2x faster growth. Complan has 63% more protein than other nutrition drinks, you know."

I smiled and said, "I also give him milk every morning. But he is not very fond of it"

She did not wait for a second and said, "That's why I mentioned Complan. The flavors are very good and children like them. I have been a Complan girl all my growing years. Childhood and growing years come only once. So, I decided to make him a Complan boy."

Deepti paused. "I am not a nutrition expert but we are well aware of how nutrients impact the overall brain functioning and immune system. So, it was my conscious decision to make Aditya a Complan boy. Seeing the role it has played in his life, I do not regret my decision."

Deepti held the tray and said, "Let's go, everyone is waiting for us!"

We had the delicious munchies made by Deepti, but she sensed me being lost in thoughts. So, she came up to me and said, "See, I am not trying to compare our kids. I know they grow at their own pace. Neither am I trying to influence you. Because you asked, I was trying to let you know what is it that am doing differently. Along with a balanced diet, Complan has helped Aditya."

I looked at her and said, "No Deepti. Even Aryan will be a Complan boy, I will buy a pack on my way back home! Thank you!"
