Firsts are always special.
I have been running Authoropod for 2.5 years now. My team is spread across pan India, the only way I
used to host events was virtually. Honestly, if Kaveri had not put this idea in my head and worked
with me on this, Authoropod would still be deprived of an offline, in-person event—a big thanks to
her.
She is in the Netherlands and I am in Pune. Weekly Zoom calls were the only way we could plan things
before she reached India.
And the other concerning factor was the incessant rains because we were planning our event in July.
Planning everything from scratch, putting self-earned money into the execution, and then seeing it
turn out so well, nothing compares to that feeling. It's not like we did not reach out for sponsors,
but somehow, it did not happen. Eminent speakers, a centrally located venue, momentos, and a nice
hamper were the basics we had set in mind and we did the best we could do in our capacity. A lot of
compliments, support, wishes, and a few learnings too. Yes, it was all worth it in the end.
Grateful to our friends and well-wishers who showed up despite the rains. The raindrops still
pitter-patter in my ears as I write this blog!
