With an active website, Aanchal was able to reach local as well as global audiences. Popular media
mentions and many influential people started noticing their work. Season-wise many made-to-order
categories were introduced with time. All the women were happy and constructively occupied. Roshani
had brought a ray of hope and transformation to their lives. But Arunima always used to be a little
worried. She was waiting for the day Roshani became fearless.
There was a popular news channel that fixed an appointment to interview the women at Aanchal.
Roshani was not sure and hence decided to stay in her room. She did not want to discuss her past.
The dilemma of talking about a tough situation like hers was not an excuse. And Arunima was ready to
wait as she wanted the process to be natural and not forced.
The day arrived, a stage was being set up. All arrangements of sound and lights were being done as
per requirements. All of this was exciting for Roshani, being a social person she liked it. But the
only fear she had was of being asked what happened that night. She closed the door and pretended to
sleep. After keeping her eyes closed for 18-20 minutes, rolling from right to left and left to
right, Roshani could not sleep. She plugged in headphones and queued her all-time favorite playlist.
That was good for her to be distracted from the event.
After some time, she could not hear any surround sound. So, out of curiosity, she stopped the music,
"I think some incidents/situations in your life are those uninvited guests whom you never expect to
arrive. Even time fails to help you get over them. So all you do is, let them be. Give them more
time. All the glory you see has come to Aanchal because of Roshani, but, I won't lie today or won't
give any excuse. She does not want to come into the limelight to discuss her life. As far as Aanchal
is concerned, she has been that piece of a jigsaw puzzle that completed a beautiful picture. We are
grateful we have her." She heard this in Anurima's voice.
"But what if she leaves one day? Do you have any backup for her? Who will look after the technical
part then, since you mentioned that she alone did it all?" Asked one of the journalists.
There was silence. No one was prepared for this question, not even Anurima. "Why would she? It's not
any corporate job that can be hopped for a better package. I was an orphan. I am not sure if my
parents would support me the way Arunima Mam, Inspector Sarthak, and everyone at Aanchal supported
me. I lost hope, I was not willing to fight the case. It was Mam's unwavering support that helped me
put my foot down. A bad incident does not make a person bad. And today, I announce a promise, I am
not leaving Aanchal anytime in this lifetime!"
